Emaciated dogs abandoned on the street, video goes viral: "It breaks my heart"
Bakersfield (USA) - As Kelly Gould was walking down the street, she saw a truck driver unloading two dogs right in front of her animal shelter. The US-American recorded the sad scene on video.

In the clip, which Kelly shared on her TikTok channel "pawfect_pup232" and which has achieved over twelve million views, two Belgian Malinois dogs are abandoned in front of an animal shelter in California.
The driver of the pick-up truck let the dogs out of the vehicle and simply drove off.
Kelly, who works as the executive director of Lucky's Crew Animal Rescue and witnessed the scene, told Newsweek, "There is an overwhelming crisis in our area. City shelters and local rescues are bursting at the seams and resources are stretched thin."
On TikTok , numerous users spoke up. "Report to the police - it's illegal, the poor dogs are skin and bones." Another added: "The fact that they were so malnourished and still begging not to be surrendered breaks my heart. We don't deserve animals."
Kelly's organization took in the two neglected four-legged friends - although the shelter's capacity has long since been exhausted.
Animal shelter wants to raise awareness for stray and abandoned animals with TikTok videos
Lucky's Crew Animal Rescue currently has 55 dogs in its care, far more than its capacity of 40 dogs allows. But there is also a ray of hope: "Due to the viral video, there is a lot of interest in the two dogs. They are emaciated, but largely healthy," said Kelly. Now the animal shelter manager is hoping that the two four-legged friends will find a loving new home.
"We decided to show the video publicly to raise awareness of the dire situation the animals are in here," said Kelly. "This is just a small sample of what we and other animal rescue organizations see and have to deal with on a daily basis."
Kelly's long-term goal is for all dogs to have the chance of a better life. "We need society's help to achieve this. There are hundreds of other animals in our city and county that deserve the same attention and effort."
