Family spends eight months preparing wedding surprise: Bride can't believe her eyes
Amsterdam (Netherlands) - What an effort! For eight months, a family from the Netherlands went all out to make a big splash at the wedding of their beloved Amiee (28). The result was not only a bride who freaked out on the day, but also millions of people who melted away on TikTok.
There are now several videos about the family's surprise. But one in particular stands out because it has been going viral since the end of February. The curious video has received more than 33 million clicks so far - but it doesn't actually show the actual result.
The reason: it's not the actual performance - a dance choreography - that inspires people, but the effort and love behind it.
"Amiee was shocked. We are not a family of dancers - not at all. That's why it was such a surprise. She loves 'The Greatest Showman', so everything just fell into place perfectly. She still talks about it all the time," said the bride's younger sister, Maddie Vis (22), in an interview with Newsweek.
Her family practiced between 30 minutes and an hour almost every week to get a dance from the 2017 Hugh Jackman film right, according to the Dutchwoman.
Incidentally, that wasn't the only surprise of the evening.

Because while the bride was blindsided, her groom not only knew, but joined in and even sang a few lines from the song lyrics.
Last but not least, all the wedding guests also took part in a flash mob.
Around the actual performance, Maddie published several videos and photos on TikTok in March.
Although she wasn't able to build on her great success with these, they still generated several million clicks. So in this case, the journey was probably the goal!
