He felt inspired by Netflix series: 15-year-old kills his mother
Caledonia (USA) - A 15-year-old is on trial after allegedly killing his mother in the most brutal way. And all because he felt inspired by a Netflix series.

As People reported in reference to various local portals, Reed R. Gelinskey was arrested on Tuesday after police received a 911 call alleging that Gelinskey had sent a picture of a dead woman via Snapchat.
When officers arrived at the boy's home, the 15-year-old reportedly approached them covered in blood and holding a kitchen knife.
"He told the officers to kill him and announced, 'She's dead' and 'She's dead because of what I did,'" the indictment states.
He killed her by hitting her on the head with a dumbbell. The knife was then used.
Gelinskey was arrested immediately.
But what motivated the teenager to commit such a brutal act?
Gelinskey felt inspired by the Menendez brothers

According to his own statements, Gelinskey had come home from school that day in a bad mood and felt the urge to kill his parents.
He had previously taken his brother's anti-anxiety medication.
After searching in vain for a hammer to kill his father, he had watched his mother watching the Netflix film "The Menendez Brothers" - a documentary about the brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez, who are in prison for the murder of their parents. He said he felt particularly inspired by it.
A few moments later, his mother died.
The 15-year-old is currently in custody, with bail set at one million US dollars. His father, who was also supposed to have died during the attack, has already asked to be allowed to see him.
