Horrific act of bloodshed: Police arrest 13-year-old after brutal murder of a mother

Wellingborough (England) - A 13-year-old girl has been charged with murder after allegedly killing a mother-of-three.

According to the police, the unnamed teenager was arrested last Monday.

In addition to the murder charge, she is also accused of arson.

The authorities were called to the English town of Wellingborough on Monday night because of a fire.

They found a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been confirmed, but investigators believe it is 43-year-old Marta Bednarczyk.

"A forensic autopsy (...) revealed a stab wound as the preliminary cause of death", the press release states.

"I would like to thank the many police officers and staff who have been working tirelessly on this investigation since the tragic events yesterday morning. All our sympathies go out to Marta's family in particular, who have cooperated fully during these devastating days," the police added.

Given the young age of the perpetrator, it has not yet been possible to provide more detailed information on the course of the crime. The 13-year-old is due to appear in court today, Wednesday.
