Young mother arrested: Amber (20) sold her own baby
Fayetteville (Arkansas) - It is a shocking incident. In the US state of Arkansas, a 20-year-old woman tried to sell her baby. For 50 US dollars and a few clothes - that's all the woman thought her own child was worth.

Full of anticipation, Amber Booth shared ultrasound images and photos of the positive pregnancy test on Facebook. But when the baby finally arrived in November 2024, she just wanted to get rid of it.
Now the justice system in Arkansas is looking into the terrible incident, reported WBMA.
Investigators are certain that the 20-year-old gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby boy in November 2024. But just two weeks later, she allegedly drove from Alabama to Arkansas and sold the baby to a woman she did not know for 50 US dollars (around 45 euros) and a few clothes.
Amber Booth was arrested at the end of February. If convicted, she faces up to 25 years in prison.
Arkansas justice system deals with baby purchase

The baby trade came to light when Amber's horrified family contacted the police at the end of February, Newsbreak reported.
Before that, Amber's desperate sister-in-law tried to get the sold baby back. She made inquiries, even traveled to the alleged baby buyer and urged her to return the little boy.
However, the woman refused to give in and insisted on a written purchase contract that she had concluded with the 20-year-old. The document was apparently drawn up by a notary, but not signed by a judge, as is usual for adoptions.
Amber's sister-in-law has since applied for guardianship of the little boy.
Until the outstanding legal issues have been clarified, the little boy will remain with the alleged baby buyer for the time being, who does not want to give up the child under any circumstances.
